Cooking, and preparing meals, is one of man’s most important communal activities, a neutral space where learning, understanding and conversation can take place. We are collaborating with a film and photographic studio MyVideo Eye, long established partners in our Erasmus programmes, to document cookery sessions and will be launching a dedicated You Tube channel in the Spring.
There will be a number of themes including a focus on multi ethnic cooking, recipes and foodstuffs and on healthy and ethical living Participants can bring their own recipes to prepare, document, enjoy and add to our collective knowledge. They can visit local farmers markets and adapt local food to their recipes. Explore the island’s rich tradition in wine making. Learn about traditional Canarian foods and meals. Learn about a range of ethnic cookery traditions- lots of options: Chinese; Indian; West African; West Indian; South American; North African. Tenerife is an extraordinary cosmopolitan place- an exotic island off the coast of African and a heady mix of South American, European and African influences and no more so than in its tastes and flavours. Learn about healthy living. Discover Vegetarian and Vegan options. Working with refugees and other minority groups to share experience and create wealth. Explore entrepreneurial ways of making a living through food. Contribute to a growing body of global knowledge on healthy cooking and the promote an understanding of cultural differences through food.
